The Research and Evidence Directorate have released a new report 'Supporting Farming Communities at times of uncertainty'.

POSTPONED: Introduction to Health Impact Assessment Training Session

The session will run on Tuesday, 3rd of March 2020,North Wales, Venue to be confirmed. The session will cover: A basic understanding of HIA, what it is and how it is done; the underpinning values and components of a high quality HIA; an overview of HIA in the context of current policy in Wales; a case study of a HIA in Wales; and a practical introduction to screening.

WHIASU Training and Capacity Building Framework for Health Impact Assessment published

The Wales Health Impact Assessment Support Unit have published a framework for training and capacity building in HIA this week. The technical report sets out an underpinning framework for the WHIASU’s approach to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training and capacity building for HIA over the next five years.

The April 2019 edition of the Public Health Network Cymru e-bulletin focuses on 'Futures and Health'. The recent HIA on the public health implications of Brexit in Wales is featured as one of the articles in the e-bulletin. Liz Green, Programme Director for Health Impact Assessment, has also recorded a podcast for Public Health Network Cymru.

TCPA Launch New Report on Reuniting Health with Planning

On Monday January 21st 2019, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) launched a new report in the House of Commons titled "The State of the Union. Reuniting Health with Planning in Promoting Healthy Communities." WHIASU and Public Health Wales were one of six organisations across England and Wales to collaborate on this report.
